§ PJ has planned the path for the route to revitalization of U2S
events—He’s amazing! He also made a very comprehensive list of
all the items that U2S has already accomplished in the past two
years. The following lists the U2S kick-off Sermons/Events:
o Sept. 11th—40 Day Prayer Journey
o Sept. 18th—Called to Serve
o Sept. 25th—Walking Together in Mission (Brunch &
Wristbands)
o Oct. 2nd—All Are Welcomed!
o Oct. 9th—What is the Greatest!
o Oct. 16th—Let Us Pray
o Oct. 23rd—Why Give? (Dessert Feast)
o Oct. 30th—I Do!
o Nov. 6th—Praise the Lord! (Return Commitments--$$ &
Time & Talent)
§ During the Sept. 25th service, we ask that all people who
have helped with U2S since its onset to be in attendance and to be
recognized for their service. Leaders—Please attend!
§ Randy Reeves will give his monthly report during the worship
service.
§ Randy & Kim will help Sharon and Craig with morning
preparations. Mary Ann L., Craig, and Sharon will help with set-up
on Saturday evening, the 24th, and purchase & prepare the
bacon/sausage/juice/butter. Confirmants will help with room set-up
Saturday evening during their cardboard evening. Kate Worzala will
be contacted to establish timing for the 10 confirmation student’s
participation in setup.
§ Maryl N. will make coffee. Sharon will purchase meat,
butter, and juice with donated monies. Egg dishes, fruit platters,
veggie platters, sweet rolls, and monetary contributions will be
enlisted. Corina Gerczak will help with clean-up. Sharon will put in
calls to Paul Honzik and Kathy Huebner for help in the kitchen.
Other helpers are now being summoned!
§ Brunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall and the meeting
will coincide.
§ Pastor will show a slideshow of U2S events during the
brunch. Julie Geyer will be called to share the pictures that she has
already accumulated for the U2S display in the new directory.
Please forward pictures that you might have of U2S events that can
be scanned or via email.
§ A sign-up sheet to help with the brunch preparations will be
passed around during the church service this coming Sunday, Sept.
18th.
§ We need people to bring food and help with clean-up
following the brunch. The meal will be casual, as the emphasis will
be for people to recognize needs that they wish our church to put
emphasis upon during the coming year. We wish to have members
share their interest in Atonement’s future ministry and goals. Three
marker boards will be set up to gather the vocalized interests—one
for each of the following areas—Our Church, Our Community, and
the World! Atonement possibly will need to eliminate, expand and
add new programs. The members will decide what they feel is
important.
§ Goals for Atonement to keep in mind in addition to many
others, are
o Paying off the mortgage
o Welcoming 50 New Families
o Having 50 people attend “Walk Thru the Old Testament”
o Having 50 People participate in a Mission Trip in 2011/2012
o Increasing worship attendance by at least 25%
§ The U2S banner will be hung for the festivities.
§ Connie Worzala will be called to ask if the Sunday School
kids and teachers may wish to cut SS short by a bit so they can
join in on the brunch and meeting.
